Sunday AM Service ~ "Loving God - Loving Yourself"

This Sunday 2/17/13 Rev. Karen's Message

"Loving God - Loving Yourself"

"To know [and love] God Is to know [and love] oneself." -Ernest Holmes

202.jpg

Let's explore this seeming mystery. . . this ecstatic and sacred soul-dance with the Divine, or as the brilliant Sufi poet, Rumi, would call it, "dancing with the Beloved."

Hafiz, 100 years later shared Rumi's passion for God, proclaiming he was "drunk on the wine of the Beloved!"

I can't help it . . . God makes me wanna sing!"

Daniel Nahmod

The Creator, the Beloved, created you out of Itself.

What could be more magnificent?

"Your life's just a sham - 'til you can shout, "World! I am what I am!"

LaCage au Folles

To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.

Oscar Wilde

You are the only one who will never leave you!

Sunday AM Service ~ Back to Basics I: Science of Mind

This Sunday 3/3/13  Rev. Karen's Message

Back to Basics I: Science of Mind

Rev. Jay Poindexter's Music "One Power

Join us for a special Three-Part Series up-close, personal and relevant about this life-enhancing spiritual, practical teaching called Science of Mind.

Who? What? Why? How?

What is it?

How does it work and what does it do?

How can I use it?

The Science of Mind is an outgrowth of the spiritual sense which people have had throughout the ages. Before science was conceived, the Presence of God was felt. Before ever mental actions were analyzed, history was filled with instances of men and women who had experienced God.

The Science of Mind is built on the theory that there is One Infinite Mind which therefore includes all that is.

The Science of Mind is new in that . . . we have put together all findings which contribute to the establishment of humanity's relationship with the Universe, with the result that all can apply their spiritual understanding to the every day problems of life.

We must emphasize the use of the Science of Mind.

In this, we should be practical. The first thing that any student of this teaching should do is determine to make daily use of it.

Dr. Ernest Holmes

Sunday 3/24/13

GUEST:  Theresa Fieberts

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants:

Science of Mind Roots

 PLUS

Bobby "Howlin' Bob" Fieberts' Inspiring Music

Standing on the shoulders of giants, is a western metaphor meaning "one who develops future intellectual pursuits by understanding and building on the research and works created by notable thinkers of the past."

Perhaps the greatest influence on Ernest Holmes was Ralph Waldo Emerson and even a quick study of his works confirms that suspicion.  Holmes was known to have said, "Reading Emerson is like drinking water."

There is one mind common to all individual men. Every man is an inlet to the same and to all of the same. Life reveals itself to whomever is receptive to it.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
The Over-Soul

Second to the influence of Emerson on Holmes, was Judge Thomas Troward.  Fenwick Holmes, Ernest's brother, wrote in The Life and Times of Ernest Holmes, that Ernest discovered Troward's 1914 Edinburgh Lectures and was greatly influenced, so much so that his first talks in 1915, were on the Edinburgh Lectures.

In speaking about the writings of Judge Thomas Troward, Ernest Holmes later said, "They are fundamental books and everyone in our field should understand them because I would say 25% of our philosophy comes from Troward."

The power of one's mind can open or close the door to invisible forces.
Judge Thomas Troward

And who influenced these great thinkers?  A Christian mystic named Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772).  Swedenborg was a man of faith as well as a man of science.

Join us this Sunday as we explore how we became the church Emerson dreamed of.

"The Power of the Dream"
with special music by
Bobby "Howlin' Bob" Fieberts

Theresa has served our Center for Spiritual Living Sarasota since 2002, in many vital roles - Sunday speaker, board of trustees, prayer practitioner intern, youth leader, class & workshop facilitator, Sunday presider - to name a few.

More about Theresa:
She has been a passionate student of New Thought since 1992. Her desire for a greater expression of life and knowledge led her to recently return to college and in 2011, she graduated with Highest Honors from Eckerd College and a BA in Human Development.

Part of her program of study involved creating and facilitating Mindfulness training for children, parents, and teachers. She's had the opportunity to share this work at Girls Inc., local Girl Scouts, and at Gocio Elementary Go-Getters after school program.

Additionally, she has facilitated meditation groups at Sarasota's Elysian Fields Book & Gifts.

Theresa will be sharing the story and message of her spiritual journey that has led to this exciting next chapter of her life, as she is living "The Power of the Dream.
Theresa is the newly elected Spiritual Director of Center for Spiritual Living Manatee.

She has also recently completed the requirements to becoming a Practitioner licensed by our international Centers for Spiritual Living, and has begun her studies toward a Masters in Consciousness through the Holmes Institute. This extensive additional training will lead to her ministerial licensing through Centers for Spiritual Living.

In her message, Theresa will also take us through some of the intense work that she has done - along with many others - through Mary Manin Morrissey's Prosperity PLUS! classes, with specific attention to the suggestions of Wallace Wattles' "Thinking and Acting in A Certain Way."

Wattles says, "There is a thinking Stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates and fills the interspaces of the universe."

The law of God is limitless.  We can use it to produce bondage and we can use it to produce freedom.
Ernest Holmes

"Desire is possibility seeking fulfillment," writes Wallace Wattles.

What is the power of your dream?
What are you called to do?

God doesn't call the qualified;
God qualifies the called!

Sunday Service: "It's Time for a FAITH-Lift!" by Rev. Karen

Meditation, Prayer  & Share Time @ 9:30-9:45 AM Sunday Mornings

 From a child's wise perspective:

If you don't believe in God, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp - and stuff.  But God can!  It is good to know God's around you when you are scared, in the dark, or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids.

***********

Faith is to believe what you do not see.

The reward for this faith is to then  see what you do believe.

St. Augustine

Come early to our meditation room at 9:30  for 15 minutes of quiet and affirmation to set the tone for your day

Reverend Karen's Message

IT'S TIME FOR A FAITH-LIFT!

Part Two:  Assume, Expect, Trust

What is Faith Anyway?
Do You Have It?

How Do You Get It?

Do You Have Faith in Faith?

"I love the recklessness of faith.

First you LEAP.

Then you grow WINGS!"

Wm. Sloan Coffin

"There is nothing anit-intellectual in the leap of faith.

Faith is not believing without proof  but trusting without reservation.

Faith is no substitute for thinking.  Rather, it is what makes good thinking possible!

It has a limbering effect on the mind  by taking us beyond the familiar  and it ends up giving us much more to think about."

Wm. Sloan Coffin

 Think About This....

The majority of minds have many obstacles to meet and almost invariably give emphasis to the belief that every seeming obstacle is actually an obstacle;

but faith does not look upon obstacles as obstacles; faith does not call difficulties difficulties.

When a person begins to live in faith, all things that come into his life are looked upon as opportunities, and they are.

If we had no difficulties or obstacles to meet, or what would be more appropriately termed "great occasions,"
we should soon become nonentities.

It is the difficult things that we meet that enable us to bring into action the greater power that is within us;
difficulties, therefore, are the most valued of opportunities, and if taken advantage of as such,
will always be met with joy.

10 AM: "Celebrate Mom by Being YOU" by Rev. Karen

A SALUTE TO NON-MOTHERS

Erma Bombeck

Let's hear it out there for non-mothers.
There aren't any songs sung for them.

There aren't many appropriate cards  written for them.

There aren't any days set aside for them,  but they exist.

They are people who experience all the joy, the caring and the pain of motherhood. They just aren't there at delivery.

Some non-mothers are disguised as teachers who spend more time with the children  than the mothers.

They contribute ambition, hope and expertise,  time and a sense of self to the child.

After all, isn't that what a mother is all about?

Other non-mothers are older brothers and sisters of a child who share bedroom, pizza and their lives.

They take them to the bathroom, the movies on Sunday and hold them while they are rejected by a parent and there is no one else to cling to.

Isn't that what a mother is all about?

There's the father-non-mother who pinch-hits occasionally at getting meals, mopping up or sitting through a pageant when mother can't do it.

He offers a back-up system of support, sharing and security.

Isn't that what a mother's all about?

Some non-mothers  have experience.

They're called grandparents,  and whether their custody of a child is occasional, part-time or full-time, they add to the child another dimension of another time -    another set of values - an appreciation for the things that endure.

Isn't that what a mother's all about ?

Come early to our meditation room at 9:30  for 15 minutes of quiet and affirmation to set the tone for your day

Reverend Karen's Message

Celebrate Mom by Being YOU

We honor our mothers most,   by honoring the life she gave us.     Kennedy Shultz

You will most profoundly honor your mother

and the life she gave you

by "giving birth" to your own possibilities

and being the best YOU that you can be.

"God couldn't be everywhere at once,so God created mothers."

Jewish Proverb

KIDS:  ABOUT MOMS
If  you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head!

***
How did God make moms?
Magic - plus super powers and a lot of stirring.

***
What ingredients are moms made of?
God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world - and one dab of mean !

Ahhhh yes!!

No relationship is as highly charged as that between mother and child

Sunday Service PART I: Be Yourself (Everyone Else is Taken!)

IT'S YOU I LIKE

It's you I like

It's not the things you wear

It's not the way you do your hair

But it's you I like.

The way you are right now

The way down deep inside you

Not the things that hide you

Your skin

Your eyes

Your feelings

Whether old or new.

I hope that you'll remember even when you're feeling blue

That it's you I like,

It's you yourself, it's you

It's you I like.

Reverend Karen's Message

Be Yourself

(Everyone Else is Taken!)

"Find out who you are

and do it on purpose!"

Dolly Parton

There is a vitality, a life force,
an energy, a quickening
that is translated through you into action;
and because there is only one of you in all time,
this expression is unique,
and if you block it
it will never exist through any other medium
and it will be lost.

Martha Graham

"You were born an original; don't die a copy!"

John Mason

If in any way we try to live to suit others -

we never shall suit them,

and the more we try,

the more unreasonable and exacting do they become.

The living of your life is a matter that lies entirely

between God and yourself...

When our life is governed by THIS principle,

we are not governed either by

fear of public opinion or loss of others' PRAISE,

andwe may be sure that God will sustain us.

When we have found this center,

then that beautiful simplicity,

at once the charm - and also the power -

of a truly great Personality, enters into our lives.

Sunday Service PART II: Be Yourself (Everyone Else is Taken!)

Karen Drucker sings:
It started in third grade, the teacher said

'Let's sing and have some fun.'

So I let it rip and let it wail and she said

'Honey, why don't you just hum?'

So for many years I squished my voice

until one day I learned the truth

and now I sing this song!

I don't have to be perfect

I'm doing the best I can.

I give myself permission to be just who I am.

(Music & Lyrics by Karen Drucker)

'How can I improve?'

Perfectionism is other-focused: "What will they think?'"

Kim's Message

"Is it OK to be Happy?"

Is it OK to be happy?

Your answer is probably a resounding "Yes"!

Then why is there so much

unhappiness in the world?

Sunday's message is all about

welcoming happiness;

what happiness looks like and

why we would ever choose otherwise.

We will take a humorous look at the

"value" of unhappiness

and set a course of opening to more feelings of

joy and contentment.

Father's Day Gifts

Isn't it interesting how our perception
of dad can change over the years?

At 4 years of age: "My daddy can do anything!"

 At 12 years of age:
"Dad can't possibly know anything about this.
He's too old to remember his childhood!"

  At 21 years of age:
"Oh that man is so out-of-date. He is so not cool!"

  At 60 years of age:
"I'd give anything if dad were here,
so I could talk it over with him."

 ******************************************

"It is the Father's good pleasure

to give you the kingdom!!"

Our earthly fathers may have
disappointed or even abandoned us,

BUT

this universe generously abounds with
paternal gifts for us.

They often come thru a variety of people
along our journey,

proving that the "Heavenly Father" energy
is abundantly availableto all --
lovingly guiding, guarding, and protecting.

And the best part of this is that
we have these qualities within us too.

"The Father within me - doeth the works!"

So how can you recognize

This is the stuff that drives me crazy

This is the stuff that's getting to me lately

In the middle of my little mess

I forget how big I'm blessed!

Song by Francesca Battistelli

Everything in your life is a miracle to be cherished.  A grain of sand, a bee on a flower, a sailboat, a cup of coffee, a wet diaper, a caterpillar, are all miracles. When you learn to view life and everything in it as a miracle, you soon see that complaining is a waste of the miracle that you are.

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, Staying on the Path

To pray for prosperity out of a sense of

complaint . . . is to effectively compound the problem.

The grateful heart draws to itself great things.

The ungrateful heart, the complaining level of thought, will draw to itself limited things.

How To Be Truly FREE

The task before you is to realize the American dream in your own life.

The American dream is not a fine theory to be written upon paper, but a life to be lived.

The greatest Declaration of Independence ever made is but a series of phrases until it is incorporated into the practical lives of living people.

And so to be a true American, seek to embody this American spirit in your own personal life and conduct.

Emmet Fox

"The divine plan is one of freedom -

the birthright of every living soul.

All instinctively feel this...
and the inherent nature of each person
is forever seeking to express itself in terms of freedom."

Ernest Holmes

"You shall be free indeed -- not when your days are without a care or your nights without grief, but rather when these things girdle your life and you rise above them - naked and unbound."

Kahlil Gibran

"In you there is a center

where you are still an unfettered and free person.

At the center of you, deep down under all the

layers that have been put upon it,

is a freedom of life which is seeking expression.

By your recognition of this inner freedom,
it is quickened into expression.

It needs no pressure from you,
it merely needs your belief in it."

Excuses Be Gone

Would you be willing to consider that each self-limiting thought you use to explain why you are not

living life to the absolute fullest,

Sunday 7/21/13 Dr. David Reznik - 10,000 Mysterious Questions--ONE Magnificent Answer

Dr. David Martin Reznik

After years of separation from anything spiritual a friend took me to the Atlanta Church of Religious Science on a beautiful Sunday morning. It was an instant match of consciousness as I was gratefully made aware of something that I never knew existed. After completing three years of classes, I knew my thinking about spirituality would never be the same.

Over the last 20 years I have been honored to speak at several Science of Mind centers, including Atlanta, Knoxville, Sydney (Australia) and of course Sarasota.

Currently I have a national consulting firm called Sky's The Limit, Inc. that helps dentists grow their businesses in such a way that they can focus on taking care of their patients while we take care of the business.

I was a Member of the Atlanta Church of religious Science (now Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta) for over 20 years and am now very proud to be a Member of Center for Spiritual Living Sarasota, and also serving on our board of trustees.

10,000 Mysterious Questions

One Magnificent Answer
.

That which today appears supernatural, after it has become thoroughly understood, will be found to be spontaneously natural.

Ernest Holmes

Did you ever wonder why Ernest Holmes called it The  SCIENCE of Mind?

What was he thinking?

What was there before there was nothing?

Does there always have to be something?

Is it perplexing to think
everything came from nothing?

Or, do you find that quite satisfying?

Why does science call it the "Big Bang"

when it was neither?

Is there any truth to it?

How does this simple theory

change our belief about everything?

Or does it change nothing?

Why does science always seem to be

challenging spiritual beliefs?

Or does science uncover spiritual truths?

I was like a boy playing on the seashore looking only for smooth pebbles and pretty shells, whilst the great ocean of truth lay undiscovered before me.

Power & Radical & Contentment

may seem like oxymorons.  But they are not.

The powerful principles of

New Thought/Science of Mind

inspire and empower us to

change our thoughts and therefore

But sometimes we can become so involved in desiring, affirming and manifesting,

We lose sight of the truth that to

have a perspective of contentment

is a also a valuable tool for making welcome the deeply rich experience of life that is ours.

Alan Cohen writes in,

Enough Already! The Power of Radical Contentment

In a world where fear, crisis, and insufficiency dominate the media; were many individuals find themselves consumed with that same fear, crisis and insufficiency, the notion of CONTENTMENT may seem totally unrealistic, crazy, and even heretical.  And yet, being able to find contentment (sufficiency) right where you stand may be the answer -
in a world seemingly obsessed with discontent (insufficiency).

Kim's Message

What I Know For Sure:

Making Peace with Uncertainty

None of us are strangers to uncertainty and confusion.

Both can be tremendously uncomfortable
and also great catalysts
for good and for change.

In this talk, we will explore
what we can count on for sure,
how to embrace change
and find inner peace
despite outside circumstances.

*********************

Nothing but good is going on

out there in the vast reaches

of outer space

and here in the equally vast reaches

of inner space.

Everything is in order.

Ernest Holmes

As human beings,

not only do we seek resolution,

but we also feel that we

deserve resolution.

What we deserve is our birthright,

which is  an open state of mind

that can relax with

paradox and ambiguity.

Rev. Karen's Message

Ouch! Spiritual Growing Pains (I)

When life gets rocky and you hit another "speed bump" along the way, rather than moaning,

"Oh no!  Here I go again!"

exclaim,

"Oh YES! Here I GROW again!"

Why?

Because that's life's never-ending
invitation to you and me.

In fact, nature's mandate is...

"Grow - or die."

Nature won't let you stay in one place too long.

She will let you stay
just long enough to gather the
experience necessary for the
unfolding and advancement of your soul.

So when change (growth)comes

welcome it with a smile in your heart
and a song on your lips!

Ernest Holmes

I know, I know...It's those GROWING PAINS that distract us - from recognizing the fabulous opportunity before us.
Just as with the miraculous emerging of the butterfly:

The just emerging butterfly

Innately knows that it can fly;

But first must do the strengthenings

to lift and firm its crumpled wings.

The living stained-glass windows form

and it rises boundless fair

a winged cathedral in the air

And so in life, I find that I

take courage from the butterfly.

When body aches and mind grows numb

It's but a hint of WINGS to come!

The Golden KeyYou've Been Searching For

We are so often searching for THE KEY to:

Getting what we yearn for

Solving a difficult problem

and, well...it seems we'd just like to find

THE KEY TO EVERYTHING!

After you hear this Sunday's message

you just might "find" the "key"
you are looking for.

OR better yet - discover that you already have

THE MASTER KEY

(The one that unlocks anything and everything)

******************************

The Golden Key

Don't think about the problem.

Think about God.

It may be a big thing or a little thing.

If you are thinking about your difficulty
you are not thinking about God.

The rule is -
stop thinking of the trouble -

and think about God.
You are really just getting yourself -

OUT OF THE WAY!
You need take no one's word for it -

and you should not.

Simply try it for yourself and see.

It's Halloween:
Say BOO! to Your Fears

(Part One)

Forget

Everything

And

Run

OR

Feel

Excited

About

Risk

What a great time each year to be reminded that - just as behind the scary Halloween masks, and frightening costumes of monsters, ghouls and ghosts - is innocence, playfulness, wonder and FUN!

Why not look at - and behind - our fears

in that same way?

***************

Have you ever felt - as this comedian quipped:

I tried to drown my fears and worries

with gin, but my fears and worries

are equipped with flotation devices!"

Here's a better solution:

"The quickest and most effective method for transcending fear is to get quiet,
and lift up the whole thought
in confidence and faith to
Something bigger than we are.

It is like going from a cold, dark room,
into the sunshine
and just sitting there . . . letting the
rays of the sun penetrate
your whole being with warmth and color."

If you knew who walks beside you,

fear would be impossible.

IF I WERE BRAVE

Jana Stanfield/Jimmy Scott

If I refuse to listen to the voice of fear;

Would the voice of courage whisper in my ear?

What would I do if I knew that I could not fail;

If I believed -

would the wind always fill up my sail?

How far would I go, what could I achieve

Trusting the hero in me?

If I were brave I'd walk the razor's edge

Where fools and dreamers dare to tread

Never lose faith,

Even when losing my way.

What step would I take today, if I were brave.

12/1/13 Sunday AM Service ~ Music Carlton Flonnoy & Michael Royal ~ Rev. Karen asks, How's YOUR Spiritual Infra-Structure?

Happy Hanukkah!

 Carlton Flonnoy &
Michael Royal

Carlton they say has been singing since birth.  His father, Joseph Ray Sr., was a gospel singer with the Dixie Wonders.  Sam Cooke was a good friend of Carlton's father and was a regular in their home rehearsing.  Carlton was a prominent fixture at these rehearsals where he learned everyone's parts, and to harmonize.

Carlton's first time on stage was at age four with Sam Cooke and the Soulsters. The stage has been a part of his life since that moment.

At the age of 24 he joined his first road band, Elegance; opening for Teddy Pendergrass, and the Pointer Sisters.  Carlton toured Japan twice as lead vocalist with Elegance.

In 1982 Carlton was recruited by a Florida band, Hi Octane.  Since then, Carlton has performed as lead vocalist with Florida bands such as West of Cairo, Catch 22, Richie Kicklighter, The Worx, G-Force and Earl Wise & Friends.

Carlton has recently recorded a gospel CD and says he will "continue singing until the Lord says, that's enough."

Michael Royal

Michael Royal is a traditional and eclectic musician.  Feeling is always the generating force.  He was self-taught until studying formally with pianist Jacque Abram at the University of South Florida.  Under the influences of Debussy, Ravel, Coltrane, Monk and Bill Evans, his music continues to evolve into a mature simplicity - expressive, sensitive and eloquent.

Royal has performed extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia.  He has collaborated with many distinguished jazz artists including the Count Basie Orchestra, Red Rodney, Mel Lewis, Clifford Jordan, George Garzone, Junnieh Booth, John LaPorta, Larry Coryell, Emily Remler, Ira Sullivan and Mark Murphy.

How's Your
Spiritual Infra-structure?

ANCIENT WISDOM TELLS US.....

"As within . . .So without"

A "healthy" infra-structure is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL

To the vitality and sustainability of that which it supports.

BUT

Infra-structures are easy to ignore,

Because they are not immediately visible to us

(OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND)

AND they're not considered exciting!  OR SEXY!

It's much more exciting to create things that are

visible and even showy...

like building high-rises or stunningly beautiful houses.

However, the structure that's "behind the scenes" -

not so much!

Yet - the cause behind many disasters -

is found to be a faulty infrastructure.

We CAN take a lesson from this and ask ourselves,

 "How is my spiritual infra-structure?"

"How well-prepared am I -- to survive life's daily,

demands, stresses problems,and emergencies?"

"Am I at-risk or am I diligently tending to

my inner foundation?"

How is my spiritual infra-structure?"

"Am I maintaining, repairing and replacing worn out beliefs,

corrosive habits and destructive behaviors?"

Am I replacing these with strong, healthy, sustainable

beliefs, habits and behaviors?

What kind of CONSCIOUSNESS am I building?

This inner place is where
everything begins and is sustained.

"We must not go searching after God,

because God is in you and in me.

Therefore, we must penetrate more deeply

into our own nature,

and just as surely as we do,

we will have a very marvelous experience.

We will find a depth to ourselves

that we have never realized.

This is where we meet God."

So many things we can't control;

So many hurts that happen every day;

So many heartaches that pierce the soul;

So much pain that won't every go away.

How do we make it better?

How do we make it through?

We can be kind. . .

We can take care of each other.

We can remember that deep down inside

we all need the same thing;

And maybe we'll find -

if we are there for each other -

that together we CAN weather

whatever tomorrow may bring!

We can be kind.

NEWS FLASH!
YOU are the reason for the season!

This holiday might be without family,

it might be without old friends;

it might be without material gifts;

might even be missing some

Create a holiday experience that is

Rev. Karen's Message

Releasing the OLD -

Making Way for the NEW

Our annual sacred
"letting go" ceremony

"I release and I let Go!"

It's time to make way for the NEW!

Life is always making all things NEW
but
often our attachment to the OLD
can obscure the possibilities
that Spirit is offering us.

You are warmly invited
to join with us in
relaxed, thoughtful
and sacred reflection,
in a special "Letting Go" Ceremony

Let's clear our
(inner) house of the clutter
of old stories, old hurts, resentments,

old "contracts" that no longer serve us,

habitual beliefs in lack & limitation...

even habitual beliefs
("I'm not enough!")
about ourselves!

Begin the New Year by affirming:

Principle is not bound by precedent

and neither am I.

I begin this new year by setting my intentions with confidence and delight, knowing that God in me continually makes all things NEW.

Somewhere a circle of hands will open to

receive us,

eyes will light up as we enter,

voices will celebrate with us  whenever we come into our own power.

Community means strength that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done;  Arms to hold us when we falter.

A circle of healing.

A circle of friends.

Someplace where we can be free.

Sunday 1/19/14
Set the Tone for Your New Year 2014
It's NOT About Resolutions!

On the last Sunday of 2013, we made way for the NEW in 2014 by releasing the OLD.

This Sunday we will explore ways to step into the brand new year, guided and supported
by the INTENTIONS we set.

  *************************

"An intention comes from our soul-consciousness;

the mind of our heart.

When we set an intention, we are aligning ourselves with our soul's desire for expression.

Our intentions are "divine ideas" - God qualities.

Diane Harmony

RESOLUTIONS are about trying to change the circumstances of our lives...

And resolutions oftencome from the belief that something is "wrong" with us...??

The problem is...

we can never bring about lasting change in a condition, without changing our consciousness

i.e. the perspective, attitude, beliefs behind the conditions  that have created the conditions.

So....

Intentions are about changing our consciousness...

They are not about what we are going to do...

But rather fundamentally how we are going to be ...

as we carry out our actions

"An intention comes from our soul-consciousness;
 the mind of our heart

When we set an intention, we are aligning ourselves with our soul's desire for expression.

Our intentions are "divine ideas" - God qualities.

(Love, Balance, Harmony, Beauty, Freedom, Power Wholeness, Joy, Abundance, Peace . . . and more)

"My intentions are God's assignments!!"

Metaphysical teacher wrote:

"There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer.

No door that enough love will not open;

No gulf that enough love will not bridge;

No wall that enough love will not throw down.

It makes no difference how deeply seeded may be the trouble;

How hopeless the outlook;

How muddled the tangle;

How great the mistake;

A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all.

If only you could love enough,

You would be the happiest and

most powerful being in the world.

LOVE (1):  It's a Decision!

LOVE IS MY DECISION

Love is my decision.
It's up to me to give of my heart
Love is my decision
No one else can tell me to start.
And once I decide to change my mind,
God will show me how.
Love is my decision
My decision, right here and now.

And God is love.

Dr. Ernest Holmes

It is not what you first think.

 There is no struggle of will;

 No firm resolve in the face of this thing called living;

There is only paying attention to the quiet each morning,

 While you hold your cup in the cool air;

And then there's that moment when you

choose to spread your love

like a cloth upon the table

And invite the whole day in . . .again.

Sunday 2/9 LOVE (2): Loving Yourself & Loving God featuring Rev. Karen Wolfson with Music by Gwen "Queenie" Fogt & Eddie Kinder

Music by
Gwen "Queenie" Fogt, Duane Freeman & Eddie Kinder

Nature is too thin a screen;  the glory of the omnipresent God bursts through everywhere.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Love all that has been created by God, both the whole and every grain of sand.

Love every leaf and every ray of light.

Love the beast and the birds.

Love the plants.

Love every separate fragment.

You will understand the mystery of the whole

resting in God.

Dostoevsky

Sunday 2/9/14
LOVE (2):
Loving Yourself & Loving God

Loving Yourself

True self-love does not mean selfish self-centered love;

it actually it means just the opposite.

It means getting our "little self"

out of the way of God

doing and being love through and as us.

Dennis Merritt Jones

I must learn to be my own best friend,

or I will too easily become

my own worst enemy.

To love oneself can be the beginning of a

life-long romance!

Oscar Wilde

Loving God

NEWS FLASH:

Whether or not we "love" God

matters not at all to God... but it does matter to us.

God IS Love - Love IS God

Love is a synonym for God

It is the greatest healing power

It is life affirming.  It is life!

Ernest Holmes

"Love all that has been created by God

and you will understand the

mystery of the whole - resting in God."

Dostoevsky

Are you looking for the Holy One?

I am in the next seat.

My shoulder is against yours.

Music by

If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each one's life, sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

********
You can't fight the dark;
You can wait for the light;
You can look for the light;
You can share the light;

Sunday 2/23/14
LOVE (4):
Loving the World

To "love [everyone in] the world" seems like a lovely  "Kumbaya"  thing to do, as long as everyone is pretty much like us.
But if they threaten or hurt us,
the song drastically changes.

Lew Doty's song, "Rhythm of the Lord"

says it beautifully . . .

"How can there be evil

When there is only God

There can be no evil in God's name.

How can I trespass on my brother

Knowing we are one;

Brother, Sister, God, we're all the same

Oh we're all the same."

All great teachers - spiritual or otherwise -

have taught and shown us that our greatest purpose in life is love and compassion.

Song by Stephen Curtis Chapman:

"Now they're fighting in the Middle East and they're fighting down on Seventh St.

And there are fights in my own house
on given days

It's like something lurking deep inside
can't seem to be satisfied

But life was not meant to be lived this way

'cause it's true for
every man and woman every boy and girl

That our only hope for living here
together in this world is love!

It's all about love!

Everything comes down to this

There's nothing any higher on the list
than love -It's all about love.

This is the reason we were made

To know the love of our Creator

and to give away the love God's given us

Cause after all it's all about love!!"

Sunday 3/2 AM Service: What if the Hokey Pokey IS What It's All About? ~ Featuring Special Guest Speaker Rev. Suzi Schadle with Music by Carlton Flonney and Michael Royal

Music byCarlton Flonnoy & Michael Royal

Special Guest Speaker
Rev. Suzi Schadle

Sunday 3/2/14
What If The Hokey Pokey IS What It's All About?!

"The word religion has many meanings;
in particular it implies a concern with the
sacred and supreme values of life.

The term spirituality, on the other hand,
refers to direct experience of the sacred.

Spiritual practices help us experience the sacred-
that which is most central and essential to our lives-for ourselves.
Spiritual practices are rehearsals of desired qualities,
which eventually become
spontaneous, natural ways of being."

~ Dr. Roger Walsh

Rev. Suzi Schadle is a gifted speaker and facilitator. She inspires people to Awaken to their Passion, Discover their Purpose, Activate the Path that Unfolds it, and Live as the Promise of its Fulfillment.

In November, 1999 Rev. Suzi founded Center for Spiritual Living Eastside near Seattle. In 2002, she opened the Pacific Northwest Campus of Holmes Institute and has graduated over 20 ministers.

It is to be lived in joy, in a fullness without limit"

Ernest Holmes

ABOUT KIM PERKINS

I grew up in, and have been a student of, New thought teachings since I was two. Both of my parents were Unity ministers who eventually pioneered a successful Unity center in Naples, Florida.

I have participated in many aspects of church start-up and growth including teaching Sunday School, leading Youth Groups, volunteering for events, fundraising, and building committee.  Most valuable in all of that was watching spiritual principles at work and seeing what was held in mind manifest in the physical.

After moving to Sarasota in 1990, I became involved with and served on the board of CPL. The teachings of Ernest Holmes expanded my thinking and I enjoyed taking classes and being of service.

Currently, I am co-owner of Elysian Fields, Books & Gifts for Conscious Living that is celebrating 22 years in business in Sarasota. Prior to Elysian Fields, I had careers in telecommunication, banking and owned a nursing agency. I am an author and national speaker and occasionally a guest speaker at CSL.

I have been a long-term friend and recent member of CSL Sarasota. I truly enjoy the people and the sense of spiritual community that I find at CSL

I enjoy serving on the CSL Sarasota board and offering my skills and talents to this Center."

Your Words Have POWER!

What are you really saying

when you are "just sayin'?"

Oh not again!

It's all your fault!

I'll never get it right!

Well, this is how it's always been:-(

Murphy's Law!

OMG! This is so difficult!

. . . and more. . .

You know that your
thoughts have the power to create

.

"Thoughts are things."

Did you know that your
WORDS amplify the
creative power of your thoughts?

When you really "get" this,
you can listen to what you have been saying
(and maybe not even noticing)
and begin to recognize opportunities to
choose different words,
to incorporate words that
affirm and create
grace, peace, love, joy and -
you get the idea!

The word gives form to the unformed.

Your word has power because

your word is the action of

God through your thought.

We speak into our words the intelligence which we are, and backed by that greater

Intelligence of the Universal Mind,

our word becomes a law

unto the thing for which it is spoken.

There goes forth from this word

the Power of the Infinite.

Sunday AM Service: Old Words - New Meanings Featuring Rev. Karen Wolfson with Music by Carlton Flonnoy and Mike Royal

Music by
Carlton Flonnoy & Mike Royal

How to Speak Science of Mind

by
Dennis Merritt Jones

Our goal is not to convert or "save" anyone, nor is it to try to prove one is "right" or the other, "wrong."

Our goal is to inform and educate.

The Infinite Intelligence within each individual will know if the teachings of Science of Mind are "right for them."

Science of Mind recognizes that each individual is on a path to their own fulfillment and must be guided by their own inner voice.

There is a power for good in the universe, greater than  you are, and you can use it!

Sunday 3/23/14
Old Words - New Meanings

How do we define God?
Sin?

Jesus Christ?

Heaven?

Hell?

Do we believe the Bible?

Do we fear the devil?

Are we spiritual? or religious?

These are just a few of the many
 terms/words whose definitions
no longer serve our
spiritual and personal well-being,
especially as we began to define ourselves as
"spiritual" but not "religious."

As a result - many of us simply
dismissed them from our reality,
from our lives,
and in the process inadvertently
"threw the baby out with the bath water!"

Let's pause and consider that
these terms/words just might have expanded definitions and meanings that are relevant to us today; that powerfully do serve our
spiritual and personal well-being.

You Are Pre-Approved!!!

"Invest in yourself, your family, your friends, your planet, and Spirit
if you want a HIGH rate of return."
Sharon Riddell

You may not realize it - but the truth is,
you are Pre-Approved!

You will realize this when you remember who you truly are
as you are in alignment with Spirit;
and realizing this,
you are inspired to live from vision

As you retrieve the fragments of yourself -
bringing them back into your wholeness...
you find that you come "home" to your TRUE self.
When that happens, you can see clearly that
all along - you have been "pre-approved!"

Watkins, Jr.

When Eddie performs, you feel the music, amazing voice and powerful delivery, which is spellbinding whether delivering a funky Motown beat or a quiet meditative song.  His music, other people's music, it's a heart-lifting, soul-stirring, can't stay in your seat, experience.

Sunday 5/4/14

10am Service

Message:  "As We Step"

As We Step, is the title of a song I wrote about how

MIRACLES happen as we step in the direction of our dreams.

"My music is an expression of

all the experiences of my life."

"I know that my life purpose is to share this music with the world."

Growing up in the ghettos of Detroit, playing bass on recordings with the Temptations and Marvin Gaye at 17, being "brought up" by the Motown Greats, becoming a studio musician, making lots of money, moving to LA with Motown, substance abuse and recovery led to a spiritual search.

When he became involved in Religious Science in 1997, songs woke him up, pouring out of him.  His first CD was conceived, recorded, produced and selling in six months. Eddie's second CD "We Come Together" was released in June of 08.  The third CD "And So It Is" was released in June 09. The 4th CD "When You Believe" was released in June of 2012.

Eddie served three years as the Music Director at Center for Spiritual Living in Las Vegas and three years as the Director of Music Ministries at Center for Spiritual Living in Seattle.

Eddie has recorded with Marvin Gaye, Quincy Jones, James Brown, Santana, Cher,  Diana Ross,  Herbie Hancock,  Pattie  Labelle, The Pointer Sisters, Peter Frampton, The Temptations, Phyllis Hyman, Nancy Wilson, and  the list  goes on  and on.

Sunday AM Service ~ Celebrate Mom by Being YOU! ~ Featuring Reverend Karen Wolfson with Music by Mindy Simmons & Eddie Kinder

A SALUTE TO NON-MOTHERS

Erma Bombeck

Let's hear it out there for non-mothers.
There aren't any songs sung for them.

 .

There aren't many appropriate cards

written for them.

There aren't any days set aside for them,

but they exist.

.

They are people who experience all the joy, the caring and the pain of motherhood. They just aren't there at delivery.

 .

Some non-mothers are disguised as teachers who spend more time with the children

than the mothers.

They contribute ambition, hope and expertise,

time and a sense of self to the child.

Some non-mothers

have experience.

They're called grandparents,

and whether their custody of a child is occasional, part-time or full-time, they add to the child another dimension of another time -

another set of values - an appreciation for the things that endure.

Isn't that what a mother's all about ?

Come early to our meditation room at 9:30

for 15 minutes of quiet and affirmation

to set the tone for your day

Sunday 5/11/14
Reverend Karen's Message

Celebrate Mom by Being YOU

We honor our mothers most,

by honoring the life she gave us.

Kennedy Shultz

You will most profoundly honor your mother

and the life she gave you

by "giving birth" to your own possibilities

and being the best YOU that you can be.

"God couldn't be everywhere at once,

so God created mothers."

Jewish Proverb

KIDS:  ABOUT MOMS

If  you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head!

How did God make moms?
Magic - plus super powers and a lot of stirring.

What ingredients are moms made of?
God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair
and everything nice in the world -
and one dab of mean
!

Ahhhh yes!!

No relationship is as highly charged as that between mother and child

YET

no relationship is as bursting with possibilities for

love and understanding.

It is a bit like stepping carefully between

roses and grenades!

MEMORIAL DAY

by Andy Rooney

On this Memorial Day, we should certainly honor those who have died at war, but we should dedicate this day, not so much to their memory, but to the search for a way to end the idiocy of the wars that killed them.

It's hard to know how much time to spend remembering. Memories are more often sad than happy.

More than a million Americans have died in our wars, each one much loved by someone.

I would like to see the effort we now put into this one day redirected.

There are men in every country on earth - mostly men - who spend full time devising new ways for us to kill each other.

On this Memorial Day, we should certainly honor those who have died at war, but we should dedicate this day, not so much to their memory, but to the search for a way to end the idiocy of the wars that killed them.

Come early to our meditation room at 9:30

for 15 minutes of quiet and affirmation

to set the tone for your day

Reverend Karen's Message

MEMORIES:

Remembering WHO You Are

and

WHOSE You Are

Your memory is essential.

Your memories are most likely comprised of "good news/bad news."

Packed away in your conscious and subconscious mind, alongside memories of happy events, are recollections that are decidedly less welcome.

It doesn't take much to trigger them; a fragrance, a picture, a word.

Their powerful influence often shows up in the daily circumstances of our lives.

Join me to explore ways of sorting through these memories, revising how you remember some of them,
and most importantly - reminding yourself of

WHO You Are
(a perfect expression of Spirit)
and WHOSE You Are
(Spirit's precious, loved one)

Meditation 9:30-9:45

with

Irwin Wolfson, RScP

(In Meditation Room)
tranquil-lake.jpg

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.

Where there is hatred

Let me sow love;

Where there is

injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt,  faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness,light;

Where there is sadness, joy.

Grant that I may not seek so much to be consoled,

as to console;

To be understood,

as to understand;

To be loved,

as to love;

For it is in giving that we receive;

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

Being an Instrument of Spirit

"Here I am, a vessel to be used.

Whatever Spirit needs of me

 I will be - I will be.

Here I stand, my heart is here to serve.

Wherever love is leading me

I will go - I will go."

Song by Michael Gott

My life is a pencil in God's hand.

Mother Teresa

"Once there was a girl and a boy who wanted to change the world - and at first, they thought it'd be easy, because if everyone could see how beautiful it'd be, it'd take about a minute.

But all the people they talked to were too busy busy busy to stop and listen.

So they went off and did beautiful things all on their own and pretty soon people were stopping and asking if they could come along and do that too, and that's how they figured out
how worlds change."

TIM HAMM

Tim began his musical journey at a very young age, playing in bands around his hometown of Clearwater, FL and by his early teens he was writing and playing his own songs. Then, after marrying young and starting a family, he put his music on the back burner.

He embarked on a career in business and focused on family and career.  But he always knew something was missing in his life. Searching for answers in traditional churches he never found what he was seeking.  Following a divorce, he continued a lifelong battle with depression but found little relief.

Then, in 2009, he was introduced to a healthier diet, regular exercise and mindfulness meditation techniques.  As Tim opened up to these changes he found his life being slowly transformed.  He found a spiritual path in the practices of mindful living and began writing and performing again.

Now based in Tampa, Tim is busy writing and performing his original songs and has just released  his debut CD. "My new material reflects my discovery that the suffering and pain that we experience in our lives does not have to define us.  No matter what we have gone through, our personal stories of unhappiness can be transformed into well-being. It's all a matter of our own perspective."

Tim's new album, "Never Too Late", is now available.  To listen, go to http://timhammmusic.com.

VISIONEERING OUR FUTURE

"Discovering your core values is the
most important thing you can do.

Values represent that which you

feel strongest about in guiding your behavior.

You will define yourself from within.

As you live your values,

your sense of identity, integrity,
control, and inner-directedness
will infuse you with both exhilaration and peace.

Reactive people are driven by feelings,

by circumstances, by conditions,

by their environment.

Proactive people are driven by values-

carefully thought about,

selected and internalized values."

Stephen Covey

"Through visioning we become inspired by the
ideas held in the mind of God,
and they begin to live and

express through us.
We begin to be able to articulate them
and to live and embody and reveal them.

The feeling we have is that we have come home.

God's will is for the greater expression
of life, of beauty, of joy, of love,
of everything that Spirit is.

Our heart's desire is generally about expressing ourselves fully, allowing our

talents, gifts, and abilities to become actualized.

When we express Spirit's vision for our life,
we feel fulfilled."

Isn't it interesting how our perception

of dad can change over the years?

At 4 years of age: "My daddy can do anything!"

 At 12 years of age:

"Dad can't possibly know anything
about this.

He's too old to remember his childhood!"

  At 21 years of age:

"Oh that man is so out-of-date. He is so

not cool!"

"I'd give anything if dad were here,

Father Knows Best??

Our earthly fathers may have

disappointed or even abandoned us,

BUT

this universe generously abounds with

paternal gifts for us.

They often come thru a variety of people

along our journey,

proving that the "Heavenly Father" energy

is abundantly available to all --

lovingly guiding, guarding, and protecting.

"It is the Father's good pleasure

to give you the kingdom!!"

P.S. The best part of this is that

we have these qualities within us too.

Surprise Abundance

(and) Abundant Surprises!

"Wealth consciousness is so much more than

simply having the ability to make money.

It's a mind-set that SEES life,

not as a struggle, but as a magical adventure

where our needs are met with grace and ease."

Deepak Chopra

Creating Affluence

"If we would pray and prosper we should realize

that we are surrounded by an

infinite spiritual substance

which is forever taking the form of supply,

of health, of happiness, and of prosperity."

Ernest Holmes

People think of prosperity as a

FISCAL bottom line;

but the truth is that prosperity is a

SPIRITUAL bottom line.
Julia Cameron
The Prosperous Heart

Prosperity is the Presence of God as ease.

We must realize that prosperity is a

larger term than just money.

The Divine cannot lack for anything,

and we should not lack for anything

that makes life worthwhile here on earth.

It is certain that you cannot believe in abundance

while identifying yourself with lack.

Forget the lack and think only of abundance.

Prosperity is inevitable if a person's mind is right.

Nothing can stop it.

Ernest Holmes

Prosperity is a way of living and thinking,

and not just money or things;
Poverty is a way of living and thinking,
and not just a lack of money or things.

Reverend Karen's Message
ABUNDANT FAITH

Do you have it?
How do you Get It?
Can you trust it?

Faith is to believe what you do not see.

The reward for this faith is to then

see what you do believe.

St. Augustine

"I love the recklessness of faith.

First you LEAP.

Then you grow WINGS!"

Wm. Sloan Coffin
************

Faith is a great adventure,

a stimulating pursuit

to utilize the higher laws of your being

for definite purposes.

The barriers between you and your greater good

are not barriers in themselves.

They are things of thought.

It is not [outer] conditions

that you must change,

but your [inner] mental reaction to them.

Ernest Holmes
****************

There is nothing anti-intellectual

in the leap of faith.

Faith is not believing without proof

but trusting without reservation.

Faith is no substitute for thinking.

Rather, it is what makes

good thinking possible!

It has a limbering effect on the mind

by taking us beyond the familiar

and it ends up giving us

much more to think about."

Reverend Karen's Message
ABUNDANCE thru FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness opens us to the abundance we seek!
************

Most folks are afraid of the word "forgive,"

thinking that it means they must do

something unpleasant and dramatic;

 but the word simply means

to "give for" --

to let go of old ideas, feelings or conditions

and to give something better in their place.

The "giving-for" process forms a vacuum

and makes way for new good to rush in.

Catherine Ponder, Dynamic Laws of Prosperity

*********************

What does forgiveness feel like?
Freedom!

Forgiveness doesn't fight or fix events of the past;

rather it heals the present events of your life,

by severing those bonds that have

tied you to the past burdens.

Your present is no longer paying for your past!

What else does forgiveness feel like?
It simply doesn't hurt anymore

****************

Think of forgiveness as emotional housecleaning.

It lets us make room for the good we desire

and receive all the Universe has to offer.

Edwene Gaines,

The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity

**************

Forgiveness is an act of self-love.

It is a statement to yourself that says:

"I want to move on with my life.

I don't want to wake up hurting every day.

I'm tired of being angry and resentful.

I want to let it go!"

We don't forgive because the person who hurt us deserves our forgiveness.

We forgive because we deserve it.

ABUNDANT RECEIVING
**********

What might be holding you back
from what you most want?
It might surprise you to discover that it is
because you aren't very
open to receive after all!

Are you more comfortable
and better at giving than receiving?

Are you concerned that "receiving"
is synonymous with "taking?"

Stop obsessing about
what you want in life and  . . .
start "receiving" it!

Hmmmm - easier said than done?

The truth is - you were born to be a receiver -

a vessel through which all good flows.

That is life's intention

and that is how life flourishes.

"Say YES.

Whatever it is, say YES

with your WHOLE HEART &

simple as it sounds. . .

that's all the excuse life needs

to grab you by the hands and start to dance!"

"Maxine Kaye is the incarnation of the truth she speaks."

Drs. Anita and Frank Richelieu

"As the living, thriving embodiment of the principle she teaches, Maxine Kaye awakens us to our innate perfection in mind, body, and spirit and shows us how to experience it." Dr. Kenn Gordon

10am Service and 12:30 Workshop

Dr. Maxine's Message:
"Discovering Your Fountain of Youth"

A wise woman of a certain age tells people she is, "18-1/2 billion years old, and as young as tomorrow." It really is all in the attitude.

Ponce de Leon supposedly searched for Floridian waters that would reverse his aging. Today, folks look toward potions, pills, and preparations for the same, rather than looking inward and discovering a universal, powerful, regenerative life force available to all.

  Afternoon workshop 12:30-2:00
Alive and Ageless!

This lighthearted, inter-active workshop is based on Dr. Maxine's book, "Alive and Ageless: How to Feel Alive and Live Fully Every Day of Your Life."

Her simple approach to life is,

"Everything is sacred; nothing is serious,"

reflecting the belief of Dr. Ernest Holmes

that a person would do well to,

"Take what you are doing seriously,

but don't take yourself too seriously

while you are doing it."

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn to feel really alive, no matter your age
  • Drop limiting, erroneous beliefs
  • Lighten up and have some fun!

ABUNDANT OPTIONS

(Hint: They're OUTSIDE the Box)

**********

I don't think inside the box;

I don't think outside the box;

I don't even know where the box is!

Anonymous

"Because we are limited is no reason why the Universe should have limitation.

The substance that we deal with, in itself, is never limited, but we often are, because we draw only from what we believe.

We are not limited by actual boundaries, but by false ideas about life and by a failure to recognize that we are dealing with the Infinite.

Limitation is an experience of the [human] race, but it is not the fault of God,

it is the fault of our perception.

Life is always limitless, and the only thing that limits us is our inability to conceive it mentally; but we can and should draw more and more from that limitless Source."

Ernest Holmes

Sometimes my tries are outside the lines. . .

I am unwritten!

it's what you see!"

ABUNDANT SIMPLICITY

(Hint: Less Really CAN Be More!)

**********

"For fast acting relief, try slowing down."

Lily Tomlin

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by
all the "stuff" in your life?

Ever wonder if your life would be happier
if things slowed down and were more simple?

Research now shows that
when we step back from our
busy and complicated life,
we learn that a simple,
more minimal approach
offers everything we need
to live a joyful and meaningful life.

The true value of living simply, is not one of
sacrifice or denial.
It is never about giving up or giving in
but rather about becoming more aware
of what is truly most valuable and life-enhancing.

Enough.

These few words are enough.

If not these words, this breath.

If not this breath, this sitting here.

This opening to the life

We have refused

Again and again

Until now. Until now.

Enough.

David Whyte

And why are you anxious?
Consider the lilies of the field,
how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,
yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory
was not arrayed like one of these.

ABUNDANT EASE

__________________________

Life has it's speed bumps -
its daunting challenges,

AND Let's face it - they can sometimes feel overwhelming!

Often our response to these is to

  try harder, flailing about
wildly trying to find a solution.

  But the Truth is -

we need to do just the opposite.

Because. . .

Life was never meant to be a struggle!

How about trying a whole new concept:
Single-Tasking!

When things take longer than you thought,

it's just a reminder that you DO have time

and that there's a journey to enjoy.

The Universe

(Tut.com)

Sometimes it is only when we

let our problem alone,

when we back off. . . unknowing,

that is has the space to solve itself.

Sometimes our greatest wisdom comes
we are not striving to discover anything at all.

Wayne Muller

"Just as a leaf effortlessly flows along on a river,

 gently floating around and over

any obstacle in its path,

I effortlessly flow along on the river of life."
