Born in Washington, D. C., Dan grew up and lived in Maryland suburbs, attended Washington's Corcoran School of Art, and worked in the U. S. Government for 27 years before taking early retirement, which allowed him to create his own business.
After operating that business for 15 years, he realized a life-long desire by moving to a warmer climate and raising tropical plants. In Sarasota he has volunteered for Selby Botanical Gardens and his church and has served on the Board of Directors of various local groups. He enjoys distance walking for health.
He has two sons, who remain in Maryland, and four grandchildren, two boys and twin girls.
Nine years ago he rejoined the workforce and became manager of the South Gate Community Center, where he was responsible for the day to day operations.
He is pleased to serve as Rev. Karen's administrative assistant after working for many years with her in matters related to the facility for the Center for Spiritual Living Sarasota.
